Personally, I am going to put a hold on my papers for this weekend. Similar coupons come out each month, and I am fine missing out on coupons for these brands for a month. I also doubt that there will be Albertsons Doublers in the paper, because Albertsons does not have an ad out until Wednesday.

The Children's Place- Free Shipping Today Only

The Children's Place online is offering free shipping today only with code FSTG9 or you can get 15% off your entire order using code HHHA9. You can save 25% off your in-store purchase on Friday, November 27th before noon (it doesn't say that a coupon is needed).

No New Albertsons Ad This Week

The current Albertsons ad goes through Thanksgiving, and there will not be another ad coming out until Wednesday, December 2nd. I am guessing that means there will not be Doublers in the Sunday paper.

Duracell Battery Deal at Fred Meyer

I found this deal on Krazy Coupon Lady. This week Fred Meyer has a coupon in their ad for $1.99 four count Duracell batteries, but there is also a catalina that prints with the purchase of batteries. This makes for a really great bargain. Keep in mind that the catalina computer calculates that the $10 or $20 threshold has been met by using the original price of the batteries, not the discounted coupon price. So, if the batteries are not $4.59 regular price at the store, you may have adjust the amount of batteries in order to get the catalina to print. The catalina can be used on any purchase at Fred Meyer with only few exceptions.

Here are the details of the Duracell Promo:

Spend $10 on Duracell Batteries, Save $2 On Your Next Order
Spend $20 on Duracell Batteries, Save $5 On Your Next Order
Offer Valid 11/8/09-12/5/08

[Buy 5] Duracell Batteries 4 pack $4.59
Use the in ad coupon making them $1.99 (can get a copy of the ad in the store)
Use 5 $.50/1 from 11/1
Final Price: $7.45
Earn $5 Catalina, Making them $.49 each

Little Caesars Gift Card Deal

I found this deal on Discount Queens. KBCI, Channel 2 offers some half price gift cards, and they have one on there now for Little Caesars. You get $50 worth of Little Caesars gifts cards for only $25. The deal comes with 10 gift cards good for a free Large, Pepperoni or Cheese pizza, which are normally $5 a piece. You can use all of them at the same time, or individually. There is a $3.75 shipping and handling charge, which brings the total out-of-pocket to $28.75 for 10 pizzas. That is $2.88 per pizza. Here is the link to KBCI's website. Unfortunately, they will only let you buy one.

General Mills Printable Coupons

Click here to print coupons on General Mills products. You can print 2 copies of each coupon, so make sure that you hit your BACK button after printing your first copy and REFRESH the page. Use a junk e-mail address if you are worried about spam, but I have not had any problems with the major food companies selling my information.

Internet Printable coupons are a great way to get started couponing because they are FREE! You can print them in black and white or in color. Update for Pie and Ice Cream Deal at Albertsons

I went last night (Wednesday) to get some pie and ice cream last night at Albertsons. The deal is to buy 1 Sara Lee Oven Fresh Pie for $6.39 and then get another pie and 2 Breyers 1.5 quart ice creams free. While I was there (at 5mile and Overland), I talked to an employee stocking the ice cream. She said that the pie and ice cream are flying off the shelves and doesn't think she ordered enough for the demand this year. So, if you are interested in getting some, then you should go as soon as possible.

They are only allowing 1 pie coupon and 1 ice cream coupon per deal. Also, as of last night, the Breyers catalina from last week was still printing. You have to get 10 pies and 10 ice creams (5 deals) in order for the $15 catalina to print. The only problem is that I don't know how long the catalina will print. I tried calling the catalina company, but they couldn't find any information on the end date. But last night, I paid $32 out of pocket for the 10 pies and 10 ice creams and got $15 in catalinas to spend on my next purchase. Not bad.

Update: www.fabulesslyfrugal.com says that the $15 catalina will print through today (Thursday).

Coupons.com Now in Sidebar

I added a coupons.com gadget to the sidebar so that you can print your internet coupons from there. You can scroll through them and print out a specific coupon or look at a list of all of the coupons. I get a very small money incentive for every coupon that is printed from my blog, so print away. These coupons are accepted at most stores (i.e. WinCo, Albertsons, Fred Meyer, Target, Walgreens).

Albertsons General Mills Cereal Scenario

Albertsons is having a great General Mills/Unilever promo where if you buy $30 worth of participating products (listed in their ad) then you get a catalina (coupon that prints at checkout) for $15 off your next purchase. When you factor the catalina into the savings, that's 50% off sale prices. These General Mills cereals are included in the sale for $1.88:

Cheerios 8.9 oz.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch 12.8 oz.
Golden Grahams 12 oz.
Cocoa Puffs 11.8 oz.
Trix 10.7 oz.

Here are a couple of scenarios using the upcoming Doublers in Sunday's paper:

Scenario #1

15 boxes of GM cereal ($1.88 a piece)
2 boxes of Betty Crocker cake mixes ($.99 a piece)
Total before coupons $30.18

Use 5 coupons for $1 off 3 boxes
Use 3 Double Coupons from Sunday's paper

Total Out of Pocket: 22.18 + tax
Get back a $15 catalina for next purchase
End price: $7.18 + tax or $.42 per item

Scenario #2

Buy 16 boxes of GM cereal for $30.08 + tax
Use 8 coupons for $1 off 2, also in Sunday's paper
Use 3 Double Coupons from Sunday's paper

Total Out of Pocket: $19.08 + tax
Get back a $15 catalina for next purchase
End Price: $4.08 + tax or $.26 apiece

I have a lot of extra $1 off 3 coupons that I can give away. So, leave a comment if you would like some.

Bath and Body Works Coupon

Slick Deals posted a $10 off a $30 purchase coupon for Bath and Body Works that will work in-store or online. To print the coupon, go here or to shop online go to http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/ and use code TENTHIRTY at checkout. The coupon is good until 11/22.

Old Navy Weekly

Old Navy Weekly is now stocked with coupons. This is a website that offers you coupons for clicking on particular items on the page. These coupons can be used in conjunction with their sales. You can see the available coupons at the top center of the screen. Here is the best coupon I could find:

Get 25% off your entire purchase: In the right hand corner of the screen where the little girl is standing some leaves will fall after a couple of minutes. Click on the leaves as they fall over the girls head. If you miss it the first time, they will fall again after another couple of minutes.

Turkeys at WinCo

Winco has a deal on their turkeys where if you buy $50 worth of groceries, you can get up to 2 turkeys for $.40/lb. WinCo is usually pretty competitive when it comes to their deals on turkeys this time of year, but I haven't seen any other deals on turkeys yet to know if this is a great price or not. Last year I didn't get a turkey because we were in the middle of Megan in the NICU, and Kirk was doing all of the grocery shopping. So, I need your input. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Update: I think that I just found the answer to my question. Walmart also has turkeys on sale for $.40/lb, but you don't have to buy a certain amount of groceries like you do at WinCo. If you find something cheaper, let me know and I will pass it along.

Coupon Preview for the Sunday Paper

The Taylortown coupon preview is now up for Sunday's paper. They have some great coupons to use with the sale at Albertsons this week. There are some great coupons from:

Yoplait
Nabisco
Progresso
Pillsbury
Sun-Maid
General Mills Cereal

We usually do not get the Kelloggs coupons in our area, so keep in mind that this is a general list of coupons and varies from region to region.

See my post about newspaper subscriptions in our area.

Breyers Deal at Albertsons

Fabulessly Frugal is reporting that Breyers ice cream is a part of the buy $30 worth of participating items and get a $15 catalina. It isn't listed on the ad, so that makes it a little confusing. However, Breyers is a Unilever brand and a lot of Unilever products are listed as being a part of the sale. Shoppers have confirmed this. The Breyers are buy one get one free this week, with a price of $6.39. So, here is their scenario:

Buy 10 Breyers ice cream for $31.95
Use 10 $.75 off 1 coupons from the paper -$7.50

Total out of pocket $24.45
Get $15 in catalinas to use on next purchase

After figuring in the catalina, the ice cream is $.95 apiece. If you don't have 10 coupons, then just mix and match with the other participating items in the ad.

Even if you don't have any coupons, this is a good deal on ice cream at $1.70 per carton.

One of the readers left a comment that the 5mile and Overland manager confirmed Doublers in Sunday's paper.

Update: I did this at the 5mile and Overland store last night and it worked. I bought 4 Bryers ice creams along with other participating items in the ad and the $15 catalina printed out.

Albertsons Coupon Match Ups

The Albertsons ad for this next week has a lot of spectacular deals with or without coupons. Discount Queens has compiled a list of coupon match ups for the items in the ad.

When Pinching Your Pennies gets their printable shopping list together, I will put the link below.

Printable Shopping List

UPDATE: The biggest bargains in this weeks ad are with the General Mills promotion. When you buy $30 worth of participating products, you get a catalina (coupon that prints at checkout) for $15 off your next order. When you factor the catalina into the pricing, you get 50% off the listed prices. Save even more when you use coupons. This gets a little confusing when putting together your shopping list, so here is some help. Discount Queens put together some possible scenarios to help you get started. They list Internet printable coupons for most items, which will help if you don't have any newspaper coupons.

Leave a comment if you have any questions.

Disney Store Outlet Shirts and Sweatshirts

The Disney Store Outlet online has select t-shirts 2 for $8 and select sweatshirts for $2.99. Their clothes are very high quality and I love to stock up on them when they are on sale. The sizes are very limited on these items with most items only available in smaller sizes. If you don't see anything you like, don't fret. The Disney Store usually has great sale prices the beginning of December and the t-shirts are usually available at similar prices. Shipping starts at $2.95 and depends on the order total. Check out my post for info on cash back shopping.

Monthly Budget Review - October 2009

Is couponing worth it?

A lot of people wonder if couponing is worth the effort. For me it is. Before I started couponing, our grocery bill was over $500 a month (for a family of 8). After couponing for 6 months, I have brought that amount down to $350 a month, while accumulating a nice food storage along the way.

Now that $350 is just our food budget. All of our other household items (diapers, toilet paper, cleaning products, garbage bags, etc.) would cost us another $200 a month on top of our grocery bill. Our household budget is now cut in half at just $100 a month, but we have a year supply of toothpaste, toilet paper, feminine products, etc.

So our grocery and household budget together are now $450 combined, and my goal is to get that number down to $400 a month. This is a work in progress and I will keep you updated. Below is a rundown of my October budget numbers:

Total spent on coupons $18.49 (8 Sunday papers delivered each week, plus 20 coupons purchased from e-bay)
Total value of coupons used $184.60 (only includes newspaper coupons, does not include Internet printable coupons that I don't pay for)

Rebates- received $50 in rebates sent in September, and will send in another $15 for this month (not reflected in numbers below)

Groceries $360
Household $118
Total $478

Where the money was spent:
Albertsons $186
Winco $114
Walmart $95
Costco $40
Walgreens $39
Fred Meyer $4
