This summer we left most of our DVD collection at our hotel in Park City (about 10 DVDs). These movies were the kid's favorites, and I wanted to replace most of them, but didn't want to pay full-price. So, I went to Hastings to see what they had as far as used DVDs. I saw in their Sunday newspaper ad that they had Buy 2 used DVDs and get the 3rd for $1. I looked online, but was confused by the difference between the "previously viewed" and "used" DVDs. So, I went to the store and they actually had signs up saying that the used and previously viewed DVDs were actually Buy 1 Get 1 for $1. I ended up getting Bolt and Cars for $8 apiece (after discount). I then went online (they have better prices there for some movies) and got more DVDs for $4 apiece including shipping (Star Wars Clone Wars, Strawberry Shortcake's Sweet Movie, and Kung Fu Panda). I was able to replace 5 of the DVDs for $28. After that, I went to look at their used Wii games and was able to get some good deals on those with a coupon code they sent me. I was worried about the quality of DVDs and games, but they check the clearance rental DVDs before you leave the store, and the online DVDs and Wii games had no scratches on them.
Hastings has more coupons out that are good through the Dec. 12th with the code HOLIDAY:
30% off used DVDs
30% off used games
20% off used Blue Ray
Shipping is $1.99 per order plus $.99 per item.
Previously Viewed means that it was used as a rental DVD
Used means that it was sold to the store by a customer
In-store this week they are having Buy 2 used DVDs and get the 3rd for $1.
